20th Domino World Champion 2014: Jürgen Polley
The 20th Domino World Cup went to Jürgen Polley in Garbsen (Germany), a place where Ingo Rickmann was the last to win the title in 2003.
The contest was held decentralized from 27th to 31st december 2014 at nine places in Norway, Switzerland and Germany and joined 70 players.
Jürgen got the cup by winning two of the three rounds with sufficient winning margin. 25 participants in Garbsen showed clearly that the former domino stronghold is back again!
A new team from Munich took part for the first time showing that the internet is still helping to find new players even in Germany, a country where the domino sport is hardly known.
Annegret Rentsch, domino doyen in North West Switzerland, became vice champion and rose her chances to earn the local title of sportswoman of the year in her hometown Allschwil.
The 2013 world champion Guðný Ósk Scheving from Arendal (Norway) got bronze and missed the premiere of becoming the first triple World Champion ever just scarcely.
